I'd like to request an ebuild to install the all skin tarball available for gkrellm. Below are a few links. Many thanks. Skins Homepage: http://www.muhri.net/gkrellm/ All skin tarball: http://www.muhri.net/gkrellm/GKrellM-Skins.tar.gz (2003-01-29)

Bug 26635 is the same as this one.

Created attachment 16240 [details] gkrellm-themes-20030129.ebuild 3 themes in the package are in .tgz and no in tar.gz.
Created attachment 16418 [details] gkrellm-themes-20030129 ebuild Better Your ebuild was missing license, and the header was incorrect. Here's my updated ebuild with a slight modification for the tgz files. Puggy
Well done, I hope D Bandopadhyay, will accept it soon.
Hello. I cannot accept it as I the *reporter* of the bug and not the *assignee*. However, I have mentioned this bug on the gentoo-dev list and so hopefully it will get looked at. Also, just adding the following extract from gkrellm2 changelog for information. ---- * Look for themes: /usr/share/themes/{THEME_NAME}/gkrellm2 and ~/.themes/{THEME_NAME}/gkrellm2. Make gtk2 theme tracking work with a default theme fallback when a gtk2 matching gkrellm theme is not found. ----
geeez. it takes a full year to get something submitted. i keep searching for gentoo themes package to noavail. can somebody point me to or document on how to trouble-shoot ebuilds that are not currently located within the /usr/portage tree (rsync folders)?? Once I figure this out, i'll be able to test ebuild files more easily. I think this is where we are seeing a delay in ebuild submissions. With redhat/mandrake, we would simply create a specfile in //usr/src/RPM/SPECS and then issue the rpm -ba /usr/src/RPM/SPECS/myfilename.spec With gentoo, one cannot easily do this unless... we do what?
I don't know whether I understood you well but /usr/local/portage (PORTAGE_OVERLAY in make.conf) may be what you're looking for... Anyway, I'd like to see this (or any similar) ebuild in portage soon... Radek
The ebuild work perfectly, should be commited ASAP... Radek
Although the ebuild worked I got the following errors at the very start. ---- tar: Skirellm/README: Cannot change ownership to uid 500, gid 500: No such file or directory tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors tar: twilite/bg_meter.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: twilite/bg_panel.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: twilite/.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: twilite/frame_bottom.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: twilite/frame_left.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: twilite/frame_top.png: Cannot change ownership to uid 1000, gid 1000: No such file or directory tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors ----
What exactly is the einfo message for? AFAIK /usr/share/gkrellm2/themes is the all-user dir and the themes were recognised soon after merge.
Versions of Gkrellm less than 2 had a different themes directory according to the Gkrellm site, hence the need for people with <Gkrellm2 to make the symlink. Puggy
What does this ebuild stand? Inquiring minds want to know.
I'd forgotten about it actually. I'll give it a final test then commit it this evening. Puggy

Created attachment 29306 [details] More themes!
Is this bug still alive? Well, the themes tarball doesn't include all themes, so I did all the work I could stand to :). All it needs is a correct way to install it, hopefully without decompression.
Created attachment 30743 [details] An ebuild containing a pack of 197 themes for GKrellM. All the code made very simple. Looks like this bug has been "frozen" for a long time. This is my attempt at reviving it by submitting what I believe is a complete and functional ebuild that is just a package containing 197 themes for GKrellM.

Paulo: Could you please sort the list of the SRC_URI, an alphabetic sort would make adding themes more easy.
Created attachment 30948 [details] A better version of my previous ebuild I think this is ready. I've succsessfully emerged it in my system. There are some problems with permissions but nothing that prevents the themes from installing.
I am putting this in CVS now.
No more comments in more than 2 months. I am assuming all is ok :) Thanks to all those that contributed.
