I've tried a few tricks to get this working, nothing seems to make it work. 
This is the first thing that comes up after a revdep-rebuild.

( by the by, this is the first time submitting a bug report to gentoo, please
feel free to correct or adjust as needed.  I've checked the boards, google, and
this app for related information with no positive results. )
