Some files (new as of 1.34) are not installed by the ebuild: /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d, /usr/lib/laptop-mode-tools/modules and maybe others.

See the previous post for the emerge log. The tarball contains configuration files and scripts that should be installed, in addition to the binaries and the ebuild does that fine. But a few more have been added since the last release and they are not taken into account, most notably /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/wireless-ipw-power.conf and /usr/lib/laptop-mode-tools/modules/wireless-ipw-power There may be others, see install.sh included in the tarball...

I created a new ebuild which should solve this. See bug 200083
I believe this should be fixed in the ebuild for 1.47
