I have slocate installed. If conflicts with the findutils package: 
 
$ epm -qf /usr/bin/updatedb 
findutils-4.1.7-r3 
slocate-2.7 
$  
 
Re-emerging slocate gave me the binary I wanted (also with the correct syntax, as 
/etc/cron.daily/slocate.cron uses flag -f, which the findutils version does not have).
