Description Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-03 15:52:52 UTC
*freetts-1.2.1-r1 (10 Apr 2007)

  10 Apr 2007; Petteri Räty <betelgeuse@gentoo.org>
  +freetts-1.2.1-r1.ebuild:
Migrate to generation 2 and make jsapi options with the jsapi use flag
  because it's a binary blob.

accessibility: Any objections? Also if you agree I would like to add java to metadata.xml.
Comment 1 William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2007-08-03 17:08:23 UTC
Go ahead and add java to metadata.xml, but please make sure that accessibility knows what's going on with this package. As far as stabilizing it, there is another bug against this package that hasn't been fixed yet, that is bug #136600, can you take a look at that first?

The current stable version seems to be even more broken than 1.2.1-r1 so bug #136600 should not hold this up. Arch teams can verify this in their testing.
Current stable doesn't install the wrapper so you have to use something like:
betelgeuse@pena ~ $ java -cp $(java-config -p freetts) com.sun.speech.freetts.FreeTTS -voice alan -text "Test"
System property "mbrola.base" is undefined. Will not use MBROLA voices.

AMD64, what is the status of this on your arch? Thanks much.

app-accessibility/freetts-1.2.1-r1 USE="jsapi mbrola -doc"

- Emerges on AMD64.
- Tested some text using freetts.
- I could reproduce what's said on Comment #2.
