Since 2 or 3 month building a GTK-related package results in an  enormous slow down of the system during the step "Updating icons cache". During this process there is a huge load on the disk drive for one minute (even on a very fast Core 2 Duo machine with a modern SATA disk drive). 

This operation will be done for each ebuild seperatly, so it slows the whole build process down a lot.
