after an balu ~ # emerge --sync and balu ~ # emerge -avuND world I got the later shown blocking issue. after removing cups and all foomatic stuff, I try to reemerge cups: balu ~ # emerge -av cups These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! I'm having the same problem - it seems to be cups-1.2.10-r1 (which is marked stable on x86) depends on foomatic-filters-ppds-20070501, which is ~x86. I've temporarily added foomatic-filters-ppds-20070501 to /etc/portage/package.keywords to get it to install
