Booting install-ppc-universal-2007.0 on the G3-600 dual USB iBook the kernel loads but freezes with the last messages:

smp_core99_probe
core99_setup_cpu 0 done

I also tried with
apple nodetect

Did you forget considering the ibook2? 2005.1 is the last working install medium on that machine.
