current version in portage is 5.0.40
CS is NOT the enterprise version. It's the community version.
Who says that ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/mysql/Downloads/MySQL-5.0/mysql-5.0.41.tar.gz (mysql mirror) is the community server and ftp://ftp.mysql.com/pub/mysql/src/mysql-5.0.40.tar.gz is the enterprise server?!
Hmm. Comparing http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/releasenotes-es-5-0.html and http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/releasenotes-cs.html leads to the conclusion that the "enterprise server" has even patchlevel versions and the "community server" has odd patchlevel versions. %-}
It's a lot more intricate than that. Upstream has a very rigorous process - if you look at the overall set of release numbers, you'll notice definite gaps of private/non-released versions. Most of it does not affect us, since we build from source, and most of their enterprise/community stuff only affects them providing binaries. Community stuff (source+binaries) goes out to all the mirrors. Enterprise has source on the main mysql servers only, and binaries cost $ (they come with higher levels of support). I picked up this being the community version because of the URL you included, CS is in the URL without me even visiting it, and if you do visit it, it says community too ;-).
Ok then :o)
5.0.45 in cvs now.
