The latest version of Gentoo that the stable bastille works on is 1.4 Also, it is hardcoded to look for "^Gentoo Base System version" in /etc/gentoo-release, and newer versions have "Gentoo Base System release" instead. This causes bastille to refuse running no matter what OS version is specified on the command line (unless the user manually edits /etc/gentoo-release). The maintainer of bastille also appears to have stopped maintaining the project -- new bugs don't get updated, closed or commented on since Apr. 2005, and the latest ChangeLog entry from the maintainer is Aug. 2005. Can this package be profile masked until someone can take over the project? Or at the very least have ~ put in for all archs -- it's currently marked stable on four archs, and will run on neither (unless they are Gentoo 1.4).
The bug was assigned to the package maintainer who keeps bugs open for two years without action (as stated in the bug)? It's precisely because of the inaction of the package maintainer that this bug was opened in the first place! I thought I'd never say this, but we need Jakub Moc back. This is ridiculous.
The entire app-admin/bastille collection has been package.masked until at least the 3.0.x patch (and package) is updated. I will update the bump bug (bug 157187) when I have finished updating the patch for the new locations of various userland programs.
