/usr/lib64/libvlc.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
libtool: install: error: relink `libaccess_mms_plugin.la' with the above command before installing it

aren't you upgrading from a version prior to 0.8.6 ?
