!!! Couldn't download 'RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm'. Aborting. seems like the file moved to: https://helixcommunity.org/download.php/2151/realplay-10.0.8.805-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin
I agree that the SRC_URI has changed but the URI suggested by the bug reporter does not work for me either. It seems this needs more work than a simple URI change, people from helixcommunity may have changed the whole download process..
This SRC_URI worked for me: https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/2152 Unfortunately, seems to be a directory which then returns the rpm file 'RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm'. 2152 is not a good name. Is there any way to override the filename part of the SRC_URI so that a proper local filename can be used?
It's unfortunate that wget doesn't honor the file name transmitted in the HTTP headers - of course there is the -O option to wget, but using this would probably require changes to portage itself. As a kludge, one could use an URL such as https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/2152?RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm .

Please note that https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/2152?RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm will course be downloaded as 2152?RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm and not as RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586.rpm (shouldnt be much of a problem, however) What about kindly asking helix to change their download links back to sth better again?
What about adding RESTRICT="fetch" until this is resolved?
Temporarily fixed, as it's being mirrored on our servers until I can figure something better out, probably contacting upstream.
Switched to fetch restriction
