What's you swig version? You need 1.3.31 (also try to re-emerge swig if it still doesn't work w/ this version).

I got the same error message, and recompiling swig-1.3.31 didn't help.  I did get it to compile by using: USE="-python" emerge lcms .  I know that's not an answer.  Python-2.5 version related, I guess.
