Only part of png pictures are shown or picture is striped. Gentoo version is       
1.1a, updated from RC6. Qt-3.0.3, kdebase-3.0-r1, kdelibs-3.0, linpng-1.0.12      
ebuilds. PII, gcc-2.95.3, C(XX)FLAGS="-mcpu=i686 -march=i386 -O3". No error 
messages on console.

Well, it seems to be known problem and fix is included with resent qt-copy? http://lists.kde.org/?l=kfm-devel&m=101806722715390&w=2

The thread you linked to says the fix is included in the current qt cvs, and will be nicluded in 3.0.4. (I hope it will be released soon). Meanwhile I could package some fixes from qt-copy. I'll look into it.

qt-3.0.3.1.ebuild seems to include fix to this problem, at least now I can see  
png pics correctly ;)
