@portage folks - please re-assing once you've figured out what's causing this
one.

You can break that dependency cycle by temporarily disabling the gpm USE flag
for ncurses:

The output in comment #0 has lots of noise in it, but that's been fixed in
portage-2.1.2-r12 which should be marked stable soon.
