Description Nick Osborne 2007-02-26 06:53:50 UTC
ffmpeg changes it's interpretation of '-b' on the command line from kilobytes to bits (see: http://svn.mplayerhq.hu/ffmpeg/trunk/ffmpeg.c?revision=6288&view=markup), which causes mytharchive to create very low bitrate files when using ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20061016 and ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070129.

Mytharchive has been patched in svn to adjust, but it doesn't look like it's been backported to fixes (see: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/11396).

Reproducible: Didn't try

Forgot to mention that myth's patch in changeset 11396 linked above is reported to work with ffmpeg before and after the change.

Please submit a patch upstream to get this merged into release-0-20-fixes and provide a link here.

Or see maybe Stuart will want to commit it.

Doug, I've been on vacation since the first and unexpectedly haven't been able to check my messages. Sorry for the delay.

I see that you submitted a request for me upstream, and that I missed a merge to fixes that was already there. My sincere apologies for my mistake- I'll test with the latest in portage this evening to confirm if this is still an issue.
