Description Alexander Peshkov 2007-02-25 08:01:15 UTC
Version of gcc:
# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)

Fails with the following message:
g++  -DBOOT_BUILD -I../src/include/gen -I../src/include -I../src/vulcan -I../extern/icu/source/common -I../extern/icu/source/i18n -DNAMESPACE=Vulcan -ggdb -DLINUX -DAMD64 -pipe -MMD -p -fPIC -Wall -Wno-switch -Wno-parentheses -Wno-unknown-pragmas -Wno-unused-variable -fmessage-length=0 -DDEV_BUILD -c ../src/common/classes/ClumpletReader.cpp -o ../temp/boot/common/classes/ClumpletReader.o
../src/common/classes/ClumpletReader.cpp:543: internal compiler error: in dwarf2out_finish, at dwarf2out.c:13110
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:http://bugs.gentoo.org/> for instructions.
Preprocessed source stored into /tmp/ccxvsIpA.out file, please attach this to your bugreport.

Can also notice, that older version of gcc (3.3.4) did not have such problems.

I know that standard suggestion is to upgrade gcc version, but I need to be able to build firebird with as wide spectrum of compilers as possible.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Parse Error reading PROVIDE and USE in '/var/db/pkg/x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r6'
Possibly Invalid: 'virtual/x11 opengl? virtual/opengl opengl? virtual/glu virtual/xft'

gcc-3.4.4 is not supported. Use 3.4.6-r2 on hardened profiles, 4.1.x everywhere else.

Comment 5 Alexander Peshkov 2007-02-25 09:01:47 UTC
Sorry, but with recommended 3.4.6-r2 bug is _exactly_ the same.

Is all chain of gcc 3.x not recommended for use any more?
