Description Bruno Roggeri 2007-02-20 11:39:37 UTC
Since my update to kaffeine-0.8.3 yesterday, kaffeine doesn't keep the screensaver from starting when I'm watching a movie.

Here are my current kaffeine useflags :

[ebuild R ] media-video/kaffeine-0.8.3 USE="arts encode vorbis -debug -dvb -gstreamer -kdehiddenvisibility -xinerama"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Activate KDE screensaver with a 5 minutes delay
2. Start watching a movie in kaffeine
3.

Actual Results:
Every 5 minutes, I have shake the mouse to be able to see the movie.

Expected Results:
Kaffeine should keep the screensaver from starting

Same behavior here, only using XfCE 4.4 and xscreensaver.

Looks like an upstream bug in Kaffeine:

Comment 2 Sebastian Damm 2007-03-20 21:37:30 UTC
I just took the 0.8.3 ebuild and renamed it to 0.8.2, took the build-patch, too. Compiled without a problem, runs, and the screensaver does not start anymore.

Also tried exchanging some code in the 0.8.3 code with the 0.8.2 code. Compiled fine, but I guess my C++ knowledge is insufficient for such a task. ;)

So I guess the 0.8.2 downgrade is a solution for now.
Comment 3 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-25 15:54:33 UTC
This should be fixed in 0.8.4 according to upstream. Feel free to reopen, if this is not the case.
