Now that dbus is stable, we can focus on stabilizing x11-libs/qt-4.2.2. Please hit me with any questions. alpha, you will have to stabilize sys-apps/dbus-1.0.2 first. Thanks!

qmpdclient is no issue - 1.0.7 should have been stabilized long time ago - I can do it for x86, and will file a bug for other arches, as soon as qt-4.2* is stabilized. The question is, will more apps (which depend on >=qt-4.1) bomb out like this?
sparc stable i say.
ppc64 stable
I checked it with app-admin/keepassx, works great on x86.
x86: I've been using this particular version for my own application development for a couple of weeks now. It hasn't brought me any trouble. Though I haven't used it to compile any other packages in the tree. compiled using: [ebuild R ] x11-libs/qt-4.2.2 USE="cups gif jpeg opengl png sqlite3 zlib -accessibility -dbus -debug -doc -examples -firebird -glib -mng -mysql -nas -nis -odbc -pch -postgres -qt3support -sqlite -xinerama" INPUT_DEVICES="-wacom"
(In reply to comment #2) > The question is, will more apps (which depend on >=qt-4.1) bomb out like this? If I made no mistake, I tested all packages in x86 stable that depend on Qt 4. The following failed, config. games: config.log can be provided. games-kids/cubetest-0.9.4 checking for QT... configure: error: The QtGui library >= 4.0.0 could not be found. Can someone test with Qt 4.1* if it fails too? mobile, uberlord: wpa_supplicant needs Qt 4.2.2 built with USE=qt3support, please add a check

Correction: cubetest also needs Qt 4.2.2 with USE=qt3support. So add a check please.
(In reply to comment #7) > mobile, uberlord: > wpa_supplicant needs Qt 4.2.2 built with USE=qt3support, please add a check Or stabilise a newer version.
Stable on ppc.
Added two separate bugs for the issues still there: x86 and amd64 have to wait for both bugs to be handled (one is a stabilisation). ia64 and alpha can go on like this ppc shouldn't have stabled...but too late.
amd64 stable
When wpa_supplicant went stable prematurely, we can also stable qt 4.2.2 now. x86 done
ia64 stable
closing. Only alpha remains and this is superceded by bug 172746
