There is still bug 151852. If we stabilize iproute2-2.6.18.20061002 we'll break vpnc for stable users too.
Comment 4 Alexander Færøy 2006-12-16 10:53:09 UTC
Stable on Alpha and MIPS.
Comment 5 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-17 21:36:42 UTC
Stable for HPPA.
Comment 6 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-20 11:06:10 UTC
sparc stable since we don't have vpnc stable (and thus ~sparc people are already screwed anyway).
Comment 7 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-22 03:17:11 UTC
ppc64 stable

2: passes test suite
3: passes collision test

Stop stabilising vpnc please, as there is a pending security bug, which will probably lead to a stabilisation of a newer snapshot.
Comment 18 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-18 16:34:49 UTC
trying to execute vim, I get

E437: terminal capability "cm" required
Press ENTER or type command to continue

If I press enter, vim is opened, but the row with the blue ~s is in the middle of the screen instead of the left margin. Typing anything scrambles the screen, it looks like the cursor couldn't be reset.

So far so bad.

Opening any of the menus takes at least 3 seconds, the whole app seems very laggy.

However, I remember the same issues with previous versions, so can someone else from the amd64 test this please?

I had the same problem on x86.
I'm using the hardened profile with no USE flags,
no unmasked or masked packages,
and no CFLAGS. However, I am able to emerge
iproute2-2.6.16.20060323.

So the problem appears to be with the latest version of iproute2.

Comment 24 Alexander Stoll 2007-03-03 16:10:25 UTC
I just wonder how this thing could become stable on archs supporting 2.4 kernels... (for me x86)
As long as this ebuild requires x_tables.h header file - which is of course not present in 2.4 kernels/headers - this thing never builds on those boxes...
Please also test packages which rely on kernel headers with 2.4 kernels/headers...
More trouble, see bug #162885

No one noticed that it is not working. Very simple reason.

For those profiles (hardened, no-nptl/2.4) with kernel 2.4 as their official kernel I masked iproute2-2.6.19.20061214 and vpnc > 0.3.3 for x86. If you use a normal profile which would allow you kernel 2.6, maskings have to be handled by the user.

Why is hppa actually readded? I don't get that.

Because sys-apps/iproute2-2.6.18.20061002 should not have been keyworded in the first place as it doesn't build with current stable sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.11-r5. Thank you for your interest.

Is there something ppc needs to do here?

Mask vpnc and iproute2 in profiles where kernel 2.4 is used.
Comment 32 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-08 01:22:13 UTC
PPC doesn't have any active 2.4 kernel profiles. Thanks!

Stable for HPPA.

All arches done...close it.
