Description kakou 2006-10-30 06:19:44 UTC
When I try to emerge something with >=emerge-2.1.2_pre2-r9, emerge quit without error.
But if I try with ebuild .... compile, its work fine.
emerge --info say that gcc is not installed even if I try gcc-config and source /etc/profile.
If I downgrade portage to portage-2.1.2_pre2-r9, everything is Ok

Comment 2 kakou 2006-10-30 06:41:03 UTC
The problem is apparently in /usr/bin/emerge at the line :

mystatus, myoutput = commands.getstatusoutput("gcc-config -c")

that return anything on my system.

Are you using nss_ldap? Please see bug 147625 and bug 152237.
