I was going to validate my css. And when I pasted css and clicked the button, my screen got black, then nvidia logo showed up... It looked like a restart. In /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old I've found this: <START> (--) Mouse1: PnP-detected protocol: "ExplorerPS/2" (II) Mouse1: ps2EnableDataReporting: succeeded AUDIT: Thu Oct 12 14:20:44 2006: 8391 X: client 1 rejected from local host AUDIT: Thu Oct 12 14:20:44 2006: 8391 X: client 3 rejected from local host AUDIT: Thu Oct 12 14:20:44 2006: 8391 X: client 1 rejected from local host AUDIT: Thu Oct 12 14:20:44 2006: 8391 X: client 4 rejected from local host Backtrace: <END> I'll attach nvidia bugreport log too. This issue didn't happen before for 2 months since bought this laptop.

Try using the 'nv' or 'vesa' driver instead of the nVidia binary driver. What X version is this? Also, attaching your X log and configuration file could be helpful.
Some news: Xorg restarts inserting __special__ css content into textarea. I tryed text ":-)" but it didn't crash X. See an attachment for special css content. In fact, I could reproduce this bug even after linux restart. xorg.conf is included into nvidia log. About nv driver... It's doesn't work on my laptop (this makes another bugreport but I am lazy) neither on gentoo or ubuntu using nv driver. When I use it, all I get is corrupted display but with normal cursor.
Created attachment 99486 [details] specially crafted css :-)
I forgot to mention that X crashes using mozilla firefox
Please attach your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log. This sounds like you have RenderAccel enabled.

Please try the 9626 BETA drivers. They're currently masked, but I am working to help NVIDIA identify and resolve issues such as these so they'll be fixed in the next stable release.
Works fine in 9626, got back to 8774 and reproduced the bug.
(In reply to comment #11) > Works fine in 9626, got back to 8774 and reproduced the bug. Reopen if you can reproduce with 1.0.9639, 8774 is gone.
