The ebuild www-client/epiphany has a running dependency '=www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5*'. If ~firefox-2.0 is installed epiphany tries to downgrade firefox.


the dependency in epiphany should be '>=www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5*'
