net-ftp/ftpcube does not work with >=wxpython-2.5, and the deps do enforce
that.
However, this is stopping the removal of wxpython-2.4* from the tree.

I will look into patching it to work with 2.6 if there is no other alternative.
Is there? If not, feel free to swap assignee and CC.

As a side note, all the older versions can be cleaned out of the tree by python
herd, or by me if allowed to.

The package seems to be dead upstream. The ebuild hasn't be updated in nearly
two years. I think this package should be removed from portage, or, if people
use it, put it, as well as wxpython 2.4 in an overlay. 

ftpcube-0.5.0 was just released.

The changes:

    * Ported up to wxPython 2.6.3.3. This required changing the way that events
were processed, changing the use of sizers, removing the deprecated wxFloatBar,
and other various incompatibilities. 

ftpcube-0.5 does work with wxpython-2.6* and I committed the version bump. I
think it's safe to leave this bug open for later stabilization.

please stabilize so we can remove the old versions.

Dear arch-team members, please mark the said package/version stable on your
arch since the old version doesn't build with wxpython >=2.6
sparc: You'll have to mark the blocker stable first
x86: You might consider to mark the blocker stable first as well

I'm sorry to bother, but both ppc and amd teams aren't CC'ed.

Yes, but those teams don't have a stable versions yet and the primary goal is
to be able to remove ftpcube-0.4.3-r1. Or, do you want to request to mark it
stable on those platforms as well?
