Description Paul Sumner 2006-08-09 17:17:47 UTC
On boot up I get a warning message: System.map not found. I tracked this down to the modules init script. modules-update has the path to the System.map as /usr/src/linux/System.map (quick way to confirm is modules-update -v -d or open it up). I believe this should be something like /boot/System.map where System.map is a symlink to the current system map (complete with versioning, also living in /boot). I tried as a work around copying the System.map into /usr/src/linux, while it works running modules-update after boot up... during the boot I get the same warning message. My guess is that /usr is not mounted when modules-update is attempting to run. Shouldn't the path be /boot/System.map?

I think this is a dup of bug #104288. Sorry, didn't see it 1st time through.
