When running revdep-rebuild it's output is: broken /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/libgcjawt.la (requires/usr/lib/lib-gnu-java-awt-peer-gtk.la) broken /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/libgij.la (requires/usr/lib/libgcj.la) Allowing revdep-rebuild to recompile gcc doesn't help. When running again revdep-rebuild it reports the same thing and it tries to fix it again, and so on. Looking for files: libgcj.la and lib-gnu-java-awt-peer-gtk.la with find command shows they are located in directory: /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/ Workaround is to edit libgji.la and libgcjawt.la and change path "/usr/lib" in section begining with "dependency_libs=" to the above.
