It would be great if genkernel could support cryptsetup-luks. For example, have it so that on boot, the genkernel initramfs would prompt the user for the root partitions crypto key, and then boot. I actually have a patch for 3.3.10 that does that, but I no longer have any idea where I got it, or what restrictions (in terms of copyright) it may be under. The patch mentions cvalente ("#LUKS support by cvalente") but I don't know who this person is, and google offered me no help in finding him. I would post the patch, but if it is copyrighted, I don't want to permanently taint any developers eyes, and open Gentoo up to any issues that may cause. In any case, I think this addition would be awesome, and given the fact that there are a number of gentoo wiki entries on this topic and a lot of forum chatter about it, I'm sure it would be put to good use.
