Description Alexander Jenisch 2006-05-27 03:55:42 UTC
sometimes some packages are just broken temporarily. to circumvent the need to put them into /etc/portage/package.mask (and thus later forgetting having done that) i'd introduce two features in portage.

1. a "emerge package number" that's put in front of every package name that is going to be emerged (when doing -a or -p) and
2. an --ignore option which either takes the number or the name of the packages (comma seperated list) to be ignored by portage in the emerge process. also dependencies should be subsequently ignored.

Same issues (and basically same request) like Bug 118874. Identical issues w/ broken/missing dependencies.
