Works on amd64
Works like a charm on my ~x86 too.
Works for a basic config, but the probing doesn't seem to find libnvidia-cfg.so.1. For example, asking for it to detect the displays: nvidia-xconfig --separate-x-screens Using X configuration file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf". WARNING: error opening libnvidia-cfg.so.1: libnvidia-cfg.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. ERROR: Unable to determine number or location of GPUs in system; cannot honor '--separate-x-screens' option.
(In reply to comment #5) > Works for a basic config, but the probing doesn't seem to find > libnvidia-cfg.so.1. That lib should be installed with nvidia-glx (or nvidia-drivers) but it isn't for some reason...
CC'd everyone from bug #114682 Peter, if there has been no activity on a bug for a while, it does not mean it will never be fixed.
hasn't someone to fill a bugreport for nvidia-drivers to let them know that /home/matte/prova/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8774-pkg1/usr/lib/libnvidia-cfg.so.*** is something needed?
Created attachment 95284 [details, diff] nvidia-drivers patch to install libnvidia-cfg (needed for nvidia-xconfig) Working 100% fine here after changing the nvidia-drivers ebuild (tested on 8774 release).
File the nvidia-drivers bug spearately, or the maintainers there will never know. Thanks...
Works like a charm here too. When will this hit the portage tree?
Why not just install the binaries that ship with nvidia-drivers? Why try to compile it ourselves? Why add the extra work?
Seems to be included with the newest nvidia-drivers package (nvidia-drivers-100.14.09).
Yeah, it is. Once we figure out what in the world we're doing with the big steaming pile that is NVIDIA drivers, we'll close this one out.
Included in 100.14.11.
Included in 1.0.9639.
Included in 1.0.7185. Marking as fixed.
