Description Christel Dahlskjaer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-16 08:24:47 UTC
FieldySnuts is being taken onboard as the first (of a few) user representatives within the user-relations project.

After discussion with devrel it has been decided that we will allow for the creation of a "new role" in order to allow representatives from the user community to partake in the project.

It would be fabulous if this could be processed semi-quickly.

Thank you.

Christel

He would have to change his nick before being able to represent gentoo in anyway.

i find this rather curious as he has already been a part of the irc/ops project for a rather long time, and also is provided with a gentoo cloak on irc.

Incidentally, he is not being made a official developer nor official staff, the idea is for him to represent a part of the user base and allow us to run a few things by him as opposed to him representing gentoo.

and before kingtaco pointed out that he read the nick as "feel these nuts" i didn't see anything offense in it. admittedly i still dont, but then i struggle to read it as something it doesnt actually spell.

now, he is apparently amenable to changing his /nick, but I didn't get the offensive bit until it was specifically pointed out to me. I honestly thought it was a person called Fieldy Snuts from some sort of lord of the rings type novel or something.

I mean heck if I was dyslexic I could misread your nick as semen ( or cement )instead of seemant. But that itself would be quite a stretch.

After consulting the opinions of people I resepect within Gentoo, I have changed my nick to Fieldy.

I added Fieldy to user-rep alias some time ago. Closing bug.
