slim - the simple login manager, a small, fast and beautiful replacement for xdm, is a great component for any gentoo desktop (especially if not using KDE/GNOME). Alas, there is yet no ebuild for it.

Please have a look at the /etc/init.d/xdm enhancement - if there is any way to handle this more graceful, please improve the ebuild and let me know.
