KDE 3.5.1 has a regression where systray icons are not put into the systray correctly on login, causing icons to be stuck in the top left corner of the screen. The issue is described in the following kde bug report. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121699 The patch that caused this regression was a workaround to fix an xcomposite issue and has since been reverted upstream as indicated in the following bug report. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100177 I have been trying it out for the past few minutes and the patch seems perfectly fine. Although i don't know how it affects those using xcomposite.
Created an attachment (id=80856) [details] Patch to fix the regression in kwin
Created an attachment (id=80857) [details] Modified ebuild that applies above patch.
Will take a look tomorrow and see, i think we already had a bug open for the problem that could be solved.
Patch applied to both kwin and kdebase 3.5.1 (-r1 and -r3 respectively).
