I get this error when trying to compile mozilla firefox with LINGUAS="es-AR
es-ES" set.

I saw the ebuild and found that the proper repositories for downloading the
language packs (xpi's) are correctly set. But emerge won't download them.
Perhaps it's a problem with the version of portage, I don't know but
downloading the zpi's manually results in successful emergeing of FF.

Previously wgetting the xpi for es-AR also works.

5th try:

This is the only case the emerge process downloaded one of the xpi's. It also
computed the src_uri checksum for es-ES xpi.

I forgot to tell that previously downloading but xpi's (es-ES and es-AR) worked
fine with
