Description Mehmet Ceyran 2006-02-18 03:32:22 UTC
An emerge -u system after a stage 3 install blocks at udev-079-r1.

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!! /ust/portage/sys-fs/udev/files/udev.permissions
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size

The real filesize is 3549, the digest proclaims 3550.

Yours,
Mehmet

Hi,
i'm experiencing the same files size error, although with a different one, but always with udev-079-r1:

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!! /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/files/udev.rules.post_012
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size

Regards,
MC

This is also a problem with the udev in ~amd64
Comment 5 Gabriel Devenyi 2006-02-18 16:25:12 UTC
Arrgh, this broke my emerge -e world
Comment 6 Greg Kroah-Hartman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-18 17:09:07 UTC
Chris, you did this when you modified the udev-start.sh script.

Please use repoman when checking in stuff...
Comment 7 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-20 07:13:12 UTC
I had used repoman (always do) so I am not sure how this happened, but I apologize for it. I've fixed this in CVS.
Comment 8 Andre Hinrichs 2006-02-20 19:14:51 UTC
Unfortunately the same error reappeared some hours after it was fixed...

That means that it is in portage or not?

If you want to trust the files you have and allow your emerges to proceed, use this command:

ebuild /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/udev-079-r1.ebuild manifest

The problem is still not fixed.
Can someone post the md5sum of udev.permissions? The one on my system is f558b841afc8ac6381903fc371331507. If it is correct, we can rebuild the digest in the meantime.

Thanks! =)

For me is:
f558b841afc8ac6381903fc371331507 /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/files/udev.permissions

and still not fixed.
