Description Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. 2006-01-25 01:01:49 UTC
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/lvm2/ has lvm2 version 2.02.01 available. This version adds pvresize-ing but it doesn't seem to be in portage. I'm going to try to hack an ebuild together right now.
Comment 1 Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. 2006-01-25 01:14:45 UTC
Renamed the existing ebuild, digested, and attempted an upgrade. It fails to compile with various missing dm_ symbols.

I have device-mapper 1.01.05 installed, which is the latest ~amd64 in portage.
I looks like we'll need a device-mapper version bump as well.
Comment 2 Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. 2006-01-25 01:24:16 UTC
Add new device-mapper ebuild bug dependency.

Updates device-mapper DEPEND

With this patch applied, and bug 120266 handled, the most recent lvm2 sources compile and install cleanly on my system (emerge --info above).
Comment 4 Zac Slade 2006-01-25 05:35:46 UTC
Tested on ~x86. Works great here (love pvresize!).

Comment 5 Daniel Webert 2006-03-04 19:12:15 UTC
and the latest is 2.02.02
Comment 6 Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. 2006-03-12 22:32:49 UTC
Device mapper is up to 1.02.03 and lvm2-2.02.02 doesn't compile against it. lvm2-2.02.03 DOES compile against it and it the most recent version.
