DirectFB with +fusion needs linux-fusion kernel module and the fusion header in order to compile and work http://directfb.org/index.php?path=Main%2FDownloads&page=0 http://directfb.org/wiki/index.php/Fusion_Proc_Filesystem also the DirectFB ebuild needs a DEPEND for that in case of +fusion
Created attachment 77294 [details] fusion-1.1.ebuild not sure about the proper category, maybe sys-fs?
(In reply to comment #1) > Created an attachment (id=77294) [edit] > fusion-1.1.ebuild emerge successfully on my ppc, and it seems work fine for me. XDirectFB runs with DirectFB which is enabled multi-application core feature. :)
Created attachment 77939 [details] Added =~ppc as keyword and ewarn for device nodes issues. For ~ppc and device nodes issues are warned.
Created attachment 77941 [details] For ppc, one of dirty work-around ways is. Oops, on ppc, some headers issues (2.6.15 or so) may be. :P To use this scripts are one of dirty work-around ways. Run this script before emerging sys-fs/fusion.
Comment on attachment 77941 [details] For ppc, one of dirty work-around ways is. Maybe, it's not required. See http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112742
Just found this bug as I was posting an ebuild for DFBTerm bug #121266 which also includes my version of a linux-fusion ebuild, but for cvs-snapshot (your ebuild is more complete than mine!!).

Created attachment 82012 [details] linux-fusion-1.1.ebuild Revised ebuild to update depmod and to give more info on how to add fusion to udev
Is anybody still watching this threat ? I dont realy unterstand what games has to do with it. I would like to see this bug closed and moved to portage.
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/games/#doc_chap5_sect10 As for why games is involved, we maintain DirectFB and all of its components, so we would be the likely ones for this ebuild. The simple truth of the matter is that we'll get to it when we get to it. We're all very busy people and can't be expected to immediately jump on every single bug that comes along due to sheer volume. This will get done, I just couldn't even give you a possible estimate without comepletely pulling it out of thin air with no basis on reality.

What about dropping fusion use flag meanwhile? :)
Created attachment 87558 [details] Fusion 3.0 Ebuild New fusion availible. This version is required by >=Directfb-0.9.25
Created attachment 87559 [details] Changed DirectFB-0.9.25 Ebuild New DirectFB ebuild including fusion use flag
I would like to help maintain this ebuild as I have put some time into DirectFB and fusion. I would like other people to use it but for that this package needs to be made available in portage.
Comment on attachment 77939 [details] Added =~ppc as keyword and ewarn for device nodes issues. Obsolete...

Remove the broken flag, please.
vapier: please fix :)
Please fix it but not by removing the fusion flag ! A new fusion (required by >=Directfb-0.9.25 with fusion USE flag) is available. This version build successfully on both older kernel using devfs and newer ones (e.g. >=2.6.18 which does not include devfs anymore). I tested successfully a bump version of the Benjamin Schleinzer's ebuild with a 2.6.15 and with a 2.6.18 kernel. Please let to Gentoo users the freedom to compile DirectFB with fusion by adding the linux-fusion ebuild to portage :) Thanks in advance.
Created attachment 98158 [details] The linux-fusion-3.2.ebuild to build >=DirectFB0.9.25.1 with fusion USE flag
linux-fusion-3.2 now in portage, cheers
