Description Christopher Covington 2005-12-11 13:49:04 UTC
Version 0.8.17 was released this afternoon. It compiles and runs on my x86. I
believe the developers have almost completely switched to their new website now.
The older links are still valid, but I'm including an ebuild diff that reflects
the new homepage and the download url listed there.

So, uh, it's more than 48 hours. Can you please bump to version 0.8.17?

i cannot to compile it

checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** Could not run SDL test program, checking why...
*** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means
*** that the run-time linker is not finding SDL or finding the wrong
*** version of SDL. If it is not finding SDL, you'll need to set your

configure: error: *** SDL version 1.2.0 not found!

emerge -av libsdl

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

from config.log

but i have a valid version of libsdl
Comment 6 Christopher Covington 2005-12-20 17:22:36 UTC
I have version 1.2.9-r1, if that makes a difference (I would hope not since it's a pretty minor version difference). Not being a proficient Linux programmer and having very little experience with SDL I'm afraid I can't provide a solution.

> emerge -pv libsdl

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] media-libs/libsdl-1.2.9-r1 USE="+X +aalib +alsa -arts +dga +directfb +esd +fbcon -ggi +libcaca +nas -noaudio -noflagstrip -nojoystick -novideo +opengl +oss -svga -xinerama +xv" 0 kB

I wrote about Alex's issue on the glob2-devel mailinglist. We'll see what the glob2 devs say about it. We will eventually be able to see the thread at http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/glob2-devel/.

I re emerge new wersion of libsdl
media-libs/libsdl :
        [ ] 1.2.6-r3 (0)
        [ ] 1.2.7-r3 (0)
        [ ] 1.2.8-r1 (0)
        [M~ ] 1.2.9 (0)
        [M I] 1.2.9-r1 (0)

but have same result :

checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** Could not run SDL test program, checking why...
*** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means

***
*** If you have an old version installed, it is best to remove it, although

configure: error: *** SDL version 1.2.0 not found!

This bug is about the version bump, not any other issues. The version
has been bumped in CVS so this bug is closed.
