Wouldn't it be nice to get easy-read logs to syslog?
i.e. 
Nov 29 12:20:43 mybox emerge[23123]: installed package blah-blah
Nov 29 12:20:43 mybox emerge[23124]: removed (outdated) package blah-blah
etc.. you get the idea!

at my work we centralize syslog and it'd be really nice to get this info in our
