I have built a customised boot disk based on the 1.4 livecd arrangement. I like this arrangement because it looks almost exactly the same as a standard gentoo system. It differs in three ways: 1. The addition of an isolinux directory. No way to avoid this I guess ;-) 2. /etc/rc.conf contains a CDBOOT variable. 3. A few other baselayout files have slightly different behaviour if this CDBOOT variable is set. I maintain this cd image in a directory in my normal desktop system. I can upgrade a package on my cd by chrooting into this directory, "emerge xxxx", then burn the directory onto another cdr. This is very nice, except I have to be careful about those modified baselayout files. It would be nice if the CDBOOT checks were included in the *standard* baselayout files. This would simplify maintenance of livecd-like images.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
