Description:   Opened: 2005-11-22 13:23 0000
When emerging gnome-applets-2.12.1-r1, during the compile process there are
numerous access violations. Output from
/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-gnome-base_-_gnome-applets-2.12.1-r1-10472.log:

unlink: /usr/share/xml2po/docbook.pyc

I have checked that the permissions on docbook.pyc are set correctly (currently
at 644)... happens with 2.12.1-r2, r1, 1301, and I think all the rest of the
2.12.1 versions...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge gnome-applets
Actual Results:
gnome-applets tries to emerge, at the end it displays the Access Violation
Summary with the contents listed above.

Expected Results:
gnome-applets should have finished emerging.

I was running the unstable branch for GNOME 2.12 (as described by the GNOME 2.12
documentation on gentoo.org).

------- Comment #1 From Daniel Gryniewicz 2005-11-22 13:42:55 0000 -------
Workaround: Turn off the doc use flag. Chances are, it doesn't do what you
think it does anyway (it installs development API type docs, not user docs).
I'll look into this in the meantime.

------- Comment #2 From Daniel Gryniewicz 2005-11-22 14:40:11 0000 -------
I take it back, gnome-applets doesn't have a doc use flag. I was thinking of
gnome-panel, for some reason.

Could you try 2.12.1-r2? It has some updated deps.

------- Comment #3 From Frank Huang 2005-11-22 14:57:41 0000 -------
It happens with 2.12.1-r2 also.

------- Comment #4 From John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) 2005-11-22 21:05:14 0000 -------
first try re-emerging gnome-doc-utils, then try again.

Does this fix the access violations?

Thanks

------- Comment #5 From Ghislain Bourgeois 2005-11-27 13:06:10 0000 -------
I had the same bug, and syncing and reemerging gnome-doc-utils solved the
problem for me!
