I attached this to an open bug because the old one was closed as WONTFIX. This bug hasn't received much attention either.

Hello Matt, Just got an information from Jakub Moc, that your ebuild fixes some errors in the 84011 Bug. I didn't know that so my apologies. I'll quote him: "75% of the problems I've mentioned on that bug (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84011#c15) were not fixed (invalid header, bogus DISTDIR definition, you don't tell users they need to fetch the tarball, ${A}, ${D} quoting, die still doesn't tell why it died...). The new ebuild in Bug 109167 fixes at least some of the above issues." Would you be so kind to attached your new ebuilds to the 84011 Bug, cause it has some correspondance history and has been opened before 109167 on the same issue. May be you also would like to be the maintainer of this nice piece of software :) ?

Since the old bug has been marked as a duplicate, as well as having been provided with a link to this one, I suspect that the bugzilla maintainers might want to redirect the attention to this still-open bug. If that's not an issue, I'm happy to attach the ebuild and rc scripts (which I modified to use start-stop-daemon) to the old bug. I'll stand by for word from Jakub or another bugzilla admin/moderator. I'm not a developer, but I work with this software for a job at my university, so I'll keep track of it and submit any new ebuilds that don't get caught by the regular devs.
