andrew@fractal ~ $ /usr/X11R6/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'. (Details: serial 949 error_code 2 request_code 116 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) what version of control-center do you have installed ?
I have 2.12.0 installed now, but it was the same with 2.10.. Reading through the forums, it may be a result of using the new evdev driver in Xorg (im using 6.8.99.15-r2)
"but it was the same with 2.10" Does this mean you still have the original problem?
Yes, it will still refuse to start with the same error message.
Would you please compile it with CFLAGS="-O -g" FEATURES="nostrip" and then attach the gdb backtrace of this to this bug?
