I tried to update my system using "emerge --update world". If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. BTW, I have installed gcc-3.3.5.20050130-r1 on my system so the above dependency to /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.4/libstdc++.la cannot be fulfilled. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: I did an "emerge --update world". But I guess that a simple emerge kdelibs #> emerge kdelibs will fail, too. I am about to run an "emerge kdelibs" but as you might know this will take some time ... Just for your info, in fact I have done the following steps #> emerge --sync #> emerge --fetchonly --update wolrd (when I was online) #> emerge --update world (when I was offline) Actual Results: See compile errors described above. Expected Results: emerge kdelibs without errors Following output of "emerge info" on my system: Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.5-20050130, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.11.7 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11.7 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1600MHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.5 [2.3.5 (#1, May 6 2005, 15:13:29)] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.9.5, 1.5, 1.8.5-r3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.6.3, 1.4_p6 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share /config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kd e/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/s hare/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/g eneric/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/q mail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/ distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://twmlinux.raleigh.ibm.com/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X alsa apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt cups curl dvd eds emb oss encode esd fam foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gpm gstreamer gtk2 imlib ipv6 jav a jpeg kde libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mp3 mpeg ncurses nls ogg oggvorbis ope ngl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl spell ssl svga tclt k tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts vorbis xml2 xmms xv zlib u serland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLA Y
