1.6.10 is the last of 1.6 series which knows how to read 2.0 files.
it should be the only one 1.6.x remaining in the tree after we get it stabilized.

A stable depend fails for me. So  I can't add this as a block but take a look at bug 374695.

looks like dupe of bug 349472.

unrelated to 1.6.8->1.6.10 lyx bump though. the ebuild is the same for 1.6.8 in this regard.

on amd64:

emerges fine with all the flags enabled.

emerges and runs OK

emerges fine with both all and standard (gentoo-desktop profile) USE flags.
basic usage ok, imports / exports to various formats as well. 
Without useflag latex produces bunch of warnings as described in Bug 365959.

ppc/ppc64 team would it possible to finish this tablereq so we can get rid of older versions of ebuilds from portage?

ppc/ppc64 will pass on this version and go with 2.0.1 from bug #376397
