Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-03-27 15:51:33 UTC
Due new-style glib-2.28 url handlers for web and mail, desktop file needs to also add:
x-scheme-handler/http;x-scheme-handler/https;

to "MimeType=" to let it appear in gnome-default-applications-properties

Thanks a lot

Reproducible: Always

Sounds simple. I'd appreciate some more success reports before we make the change (I'm not using GNOME).

This has already been done for Firefox, and it works well.

With chromium-9999, chromium is no more proposed as default browser. I don't know if it is related to this bug but it is a very recent issue.

See attached screenshot.

Fixed in >=chromium-11.x, thanks!
Comment 6 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-29 14:29:48 UTC
If it was fixed, it was without revbumps:

MimeType=text/html;text/xml;application/xhtml+xml;

...
Comment 7 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-29 14:41:06 UTC
Would you like me to also do this for stable chromium? I've done this together with ~arch version bump, and I didn't revbump the hard masked and live ebuilds.
Comment 8 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-29 14:55:55 UTC
I'm running ~arch and the MimeType wasn't fixed, so the bug is still there..
Comment 9 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-29 16:55:16 UTC
I'm sorry, it seems there was a confusion here. I fixed the problem in 11.0.696.25. Please re-open if the problem is still present in that version.
