which version of libgweather do you have installed. Could you attach your .xsession-errors ? (In reply to comment #1) > which version of libgweather do you have installed. what about gnome-applets-2.26.2 ? Same problem. It doesn't seem to pick up the proxy settings from Gnome. (In reply to comment #5) > Same problem. It doesn't seem to pick up the proxy settings from Gnome. > that's strange, both my machine using my home proxy and the one that doesn't can show this information just fine. Could you make sure the proper city is selected in preferences of the applet ? Maybe some location changed in libgweather-2.26. I tried changing the city to something else without any luck. I should add that my proxy requires password authentication. That would explain the error in the .xsession-errors file. Epiphany and Firefox work OK, though. Have you tried on a new created user account? Reading: (gnome-panel:14046): GWeather-WARNING **: Failed to get METAR data: 407 Proxy Authentication Required. Seems that it requires an autentication, please verify it in gnome-network-preferences also I checked the proxy settings in the manager. They are correct. As I said previously, Firefox and Epiphany work fine and they are pulling the proxy info from Gnome. I tried on a new user as well, same issues. After syncing and updating today the weather applets seem to be working again. Here is what was emerged: sys-devel:autoconf-wrapper-7 sys-fs:dosfstools-3.0.5 dev-python:pygobject-2.18.0 gnome-base:gnome-session-2.26.2 net-libs:libsoup-2.26.3-r1 gnome-base:gnome-2.26.3 An emerge --depclean removed the following: dev-python:numeric-24.2-r6 dev-python:gtksourceview-python-2.26.0 dev-python:evolution-python-2.26.0 dev-python:totem-python-2.26.0 dev-python:metacity-python-2.26.0 dev-python:nautilus-cd-burner-python-2.26.0 dev-python:libgtop-python-2.26.0 x11-libs:gtksourceview-1.8.5-r1 gnome-extra:nautilus-cd-burner-2.24.0 gnome-base:eel-2.24.1 (In reply to comment #11) > After syncing and updating today the weather applets seem to be working again. > > Here is what was emerged: > [snip] > net-libs:libsoup-2.26.3-r1 [snip] It's likely the libsoup upgrade fixed some bugs related to proxies. (In reply to comment #12) > [snip] > > It's likely the libsoup upgrade fixed some bugs related to proxies. > looks likely indeed. Closing this bug fixed then. |
