Version 1.56 was released on Feb 14, and version 1.57 on Feb 27, both are more than two weeks ago, and there hasn't been new ebuilds added to portage yet. Renaming laptop-mode-tools-1.55-r1.ebuild and updating the laptop-mode-tools-1.55-pm-utils-1.4.0.patch file will work (looking at bug 327443, it seems this patch file is still required), I tested in my own machine (x86). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -p laptop-mode-tools
Created attachment 266155 [details, diff] the updated pm-utils patch file Just in case you are too lazy to update it yourself, I added the updated pm-utils patch file =)
Would be nice to see this update happen... Without it, there's no runtime-pm.conf in conf.d, and we're missing out on Runtime PM powersaving.

Created attachment 284843 [details, diff] laptop-mode-tools-1.55-r2 -> 1.59 patch And here's the patch if you want to convert the 1.55-r2 ebuild to properly install/compile version 1.59. At this rate, I find it easier to just use my own overlay to use the current version :S

With 3.x kernels in portage, we need a version bump. See also #388545
Any plans for a version bump? Should I start looking at a potential ebuild?
The new version (1.60) includes fixed locking mechanisms and daemon policies. This could be considered a security bugfix, therefore I believe that this version bump is quite important. And as Stratos pointed out, the linux 3.x patch won't be necessary with the new version. Seems like a win-win situation to me. *adding my vote*

Created attachment 297273 [details] version 1.60 ebuild I cooked up my own ebuild. It works with my 3.0.6 gentoo-sources. I removed the pm-utils patch part as I believe it's useless and leads to loss of functionality. For details see bug 327443, comment 3
Fixed in CVS. Open separate bugs if you have problems with 1.60 release. Thanks
(In reply to comment #14) > Fixed in CVS. Open separate bugs if you have problems with 1.60 release. Thanks Thank you :) As you proposed I opened a separate bug 396703 where we can deal with the pm-utils hook issue
