Description Jochen 2008-10-25 11:25:51 UTC
Plz stabilize digikam 0.9.4. In tree since 2008.07.20 and for me (x86) it's running stable!

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-10 19:59:50 UTC
Good idea adding archies.
Target is:
"alpha amd64 ppc sparc x86"

Also please could last one archie remove 0.9.2 please? :]
Comment 2 Tobias Klausmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-11 21:39:40 UTC
Stable on alpha.

Also stabilized these:
=media-libs/libkexiv2-0.1.8-r1
=media-libs/libkdcraw-0.1.4-r1
since they're needed deps.

Merely a few hours in the tree and since I'm human, there's bug 258656. And since you're human as well, I get

trying to commit the fix. There's a reason we have the rule of thumb to wait 30 days before marking anything stable. And it's the package manager calling for stabilization, not the arch maintainer going blindly ahead. Four eyes principle.

Ahem only the kdcraw is the needed... and that i forget but exiv2 is not...

As a sidenote kdcraw thingie is in the tree without touch since october and i dont see bugs for that version in bugzilla. Expect the QA issue thanks to eclass problem, which would not stop the stabling.
Comment 6 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-12 00:48:21 UTC
Tomáš, I don't know at what repository you're looking at. Digikam 0.9.4 in cvs lists

>=media-libs/libkexiv2-0.1.6
>=media-libs/libkdcraw-0.1.4

as required. The latest stable libkdcraw is 1.1. The current stable kipi-plugins require exactly this version, btw.. You asked for stabilization with closed eyes, neither checking bugzilla for open bugs, nor the whole tree, for all other stable ebuilds, which are required to work with the same libraries you intend to stabilize, as it's your job asking arch teams for it. And there were a couple of bugs I closed the last days, regarding KDE media libraries, some listed in bugs.g.o, some not.
Comment 7 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-12 00:53:00 UTC
Or better the revision (kipi-plugins-0.1.4-r2) I intended to let go stable, because of bug 223677.

Ok, please don't gripe back and forth at eachother via bugzilla. What needs to be marked stable here *exactly* and when? Just remove arches if it needs to wait and revert alpha.

Sry, It's still not clear to me what needs to be done here anymore.

It seems the minium list that needs to be stabilized before digikam-0.9.4 is:
~media-libs/libkdcraw-0.1.4
pick r1 or r2, r2 is added for digikam-0.9.4 according to the changelog but is nog yet 30 days in the tree

media-libs/libkexiv2-0.1.6 || media-libs/libkexiv2-0.1.7-r1
any higher version will also require us to stabilize a new media-gfx/exiv2

Now lets hope the maintainers are willing to let the packages go stable.
Comment 11 Jesse Adelman 2009-03-18 21:41:58 UTC
FYI: 0.10.0 is out: http://www.digikam.org/drupal/node/434

I usually post changelogs in-line with version bump announcements, but this is the Mother of All Changelogs and is way too big to put here. :)
Comment 12 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-24 18:55:22 UTC
Increasing severity since stable tree is broken after exiv-0.18 stabilization: upgrade requires revdep-rebuild but stable packages does not build, see bug 270950.

CC'ing media-libs/libkexiv2 maintainer since we need libkexiv2-0.1.8-r1 go stable.

@kde: As for libkdcraw I think we need 0.1.4-r2 go stable. Is this ok?
Comment 13 Ferris McCormick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-24 20:27:00 UTC
Interesting. This must be related to what I saw with gwenview (stable won't compile with exiv2-0.18 on amd64, but gwenview-1.4.18-r2 does build).
