Hello, digikam fails emerge when LINGUAS has entries pl or nl e.g. LINGUAS="de sv nb " emerge --ask -v digikam works just fine. But when you do a LINGUAS="de sv nb pl nl" emerge --ask -v --digest digikam this happens >>> Unpacking digikam-doc-0.9.2-beta2.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/digikam-0.9.2/work * Enabling translations for: en de nb nl pl sv * Enabling documentation for: en de nl pl sv sed: -e Ausdruck #1, Zeichen 54: unterminated `s' command * * ERROR: media-gfx/digikam-0.9.2 failed. * Call stack: * ebuild.sh, line 1642: Called dyn_unpack * ebuild.sh, line 768: Called qa_call 'src_unpack' * ebuild.sh, line 44: Called src_unpack * digikam-0.9.2.ebuild, line 70: Called die * * sed for locale (docs) failed Playing around with the ebuild, its seems the DIRS variable has carriage returns. I put an echo in front of the sed statement an it produce the following sed -i -e s:^SUBDIRS =.*:SUBDIRS = digikam de_digikam nl_digikam nl_showfoto pl_digikam pl_showfoto sv_digikam : /var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/digikam-0.9.2/work/digikam-doc-0.9.2-beta2/doc/Makefile.am I hardcoded the DIRS variable in my ebild, so it works for me, but maybe there is a better solution Greetings Holger Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Portage 2.1.3_rc6 (default-linux/x86/2007.0/desktop, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.5-r4, 2.6.20-gentoo i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.20-gentoo i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz Gentoo Base System release 1.12.10 Timestamp of tree: Sun, 08 Jul 2007 08:20:01 +0000 dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.33-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.4.4-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.18.1 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.17 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.24 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.21 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium-m -msse3 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium-m -msse3 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp/pub/linux/gentoo ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.wh2.tu-dresden.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" LANG="de_DE@euro" LC_ALL="de_DE@euro" LINGUAS="de el en nb nl pl sv uk us" MAKEOPTS="-j4" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages --filter=H_**/files/digest-*" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://gensync/gentoo-portage" USE="X aac aalib accessibility acl acpi aiglx alsa amarok apache2 arts asf audiofile avahi avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts browserplugin bzip2 cairo calendar cdda cddb cdparanoia cdr cgi cli contactnotes cpudetection cracklib crypt css cups curl cvs dbus device-mapper dga disk-partition divx4linux doc dri dts dvb dvd dvdr dvdread ecc eds emboss encode esd evo exif expat faad fam fame ffmpeg firefox flac fortran ftp g15 gdbm geldkarte gif gimp gphoto2 gpm gstreamer gtk hal hbci httpd iconv icq idea ieee1394 imagemagick imap imlib innodb ipv6 isdnlog ithreads java javascript jpeg jpeg2k kde kerberos ldap libg++ lirc lm_sensors logitech-mouse mad midi mikmod mjpeg mmx mng mozcalendar mozilla mp3 mpeg mpeg2 mplayer mudflap musepack musicbrainz mysql ncurses nis nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin ogg oggvorbis on-the-fly-crypt openexr opengl openmp oss pam pcre pcsc-lite pda pdf perl png povray pppd python qt3 qt3support qt4 quicktime rdesktop readline real realplayer reflection rle samba sasl scanner sdl session smartcard smime sndfile spell spl sse sse2 sse3 ssl statistics svg tcltk tcpd tetex texteffect threads tidy tiff transcode truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode usb vcd vcdimager visualization vorbis wifi win32codecs x86 xcomposite xine xinerama xml xml2 xorg xpm xscreensaver xv xvid yahoo zlib" ALSA_CARDS="ali5451 als4000 atiixp atiixp-modem bt87x ca0106 cmipci emu10k1 emu10k1x ens1370 ens1371 es1938 es1968 fm801 hda-intel intel8x0 intel8x0m maestro3 trident usb-audio via82xx via82xx-modem ymfpci" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="de el en nb nl pl sv uk us" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="nv nvidia vesa" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LDFLAGS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
This issue occured when both _digikam and _showfoto exist for a language since `ls` is used which adds the new line. Fixed in CVS. Thanks for reporting, Holger. PS: > its seems the DIRS variable has carriage returns. Almost, only "the other operating system" uses carriage returns, Linux uses new lines. ;)
