Description:   Opened: 2006-10-09 00:21 0000
As bug #139139 is (again) biting my ass, and 1.0.12 seems to solve issues for
some people, this is a stable request for the new series.

This comprises:

~media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.12
~media-sound/alsa-headers-1.0.12
~media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.12
~media-libs/alsa-oss-1.0.12
~media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.12 (Mike here you forgot even a testing keyword for
arm, sigh)
~media-sound/alsa-tools-1.0.12
~media-sound/alsa-firmware-1.0.12
~media-plugins/alsa-plugins-1.0.11 (note: 11! This because 12 depends on
PulseAudio that I don't deem stable yet, and it works well with alsa-1.0.12 as
far as I can see).

Of course you need to keyword what you already had keyworded, not what you
didn't have (a part ARM with alsa-utils, if possible).

Thanks,
Diego

------- Comment #1 From Diego E. 'Flameeyes' Pettenò 2006-10-09 00:26:11 0000 -------
I *was* planning on phasing out alsa-jack with this release, but many arches
didn't keyword alsa-plugins yet, so please _consider it_ or you'll lose JACK
support sooner or later.

------- Comment #2 From Luca Barbato 2006-10-09 11:26:52 0000 -------
PPC is fine now

------- Comment #3 From Markus Meier 2006-10-09 12:46:53 0000 -------
on x86:
all packages emerged fine and passed collision test.
I am using the in-kernel alsa driver, so I can't really test the driver
package.
But alsa-utils works fine.

ARM, IA64 and SH for some reasons gone for 1.0.13, Alpha is done already,
remaining MIPS, x86 and AMD64.

x86 should be done now as well, as I use this its all good ^.^

You know, I _love_ the release cycle of Linux kernel ...

*MOVING STABLE REQUEST TO 1.0.13 TO COMPLY WITH 2.6.18 GOING STABLE.. HURRY
UP!*

Not sure if this time we need to stable alsa-plugins-1.0.13 this time,
PulseAudio was tested more lately and shouldn't be a problem to stable, but
it's a quite deep tree to stable too (eselect-esd, and recent esound), but I
wouldn't rely on alsa-plugins-1.0.11 for 1.0.13 ALSA.

*sigh*

with ALSA_CARDS="hda-intel"

Been using this for a little over a week now, they compile fine and seem to
work fine as well.

Stable on amd64 with the exception of alsa-patch-bay, seems nobody had -r2
stable and looks like it's not necessary to do it either. If I'm wrong, please
readd and tell me :)

x86 is stable again ^>^

Seems like HPPA is done:

media-sound/alsa-headers-1.0.13
media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.13
media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.13
media-plugins/alsa-plugins-1.0.13

Same procedure as in #comment 5.

Bumping severity.

IA64 and Alpha teams *with urgency* please mark alsa-driver-1.0.13 stable or
drop the stable keywords out of it, you marked alsa-lib-1.0.13 stable but not
the -driver !!!

Stable on Alpha + IA64.

------- Comment #22 From Stuart Longland 2006-12-26 18:28:30 0000 -------
alsa-lib, alsa-utils and alsa-headers have been marked stable for release
1.0.13.

I'm not sure what the situation is with alsa-driver though. I suspect most of
our users use the driver that comes with mips-sources, as that's where it gets
maintained. (see <http://www.linux-mips.org/~skylark/> -- you'll notice
there's no alsa-driver patches to add RAD1 support.)

For the moment, I'll leave alsa-driver as-is and discuss it with the rest of
the mips team. The others, however, can be safely bumped ... and will be
bumped shortly.

mips does not need to mark alsa-driver stable, so this is done.
